Language is the source through which humanity thrives. Without it, we would not be here in the abundance we are today. All of the technologies we now possess as a species would not be here nor would the technology that we could make be nearly as complex were it not for language. We would not be able to know what other people are thinking were it not for this great blessing we call language. Language is the adhesive of society, of trades and of everything we do. Language is taken for granted by nearly everyone, but should be praised because of its awesome power that is unique to our species. English in particular has a great capability of evolving and because of that ability we shall explore exactly where it came from.
The history of the English language is as old as humanity itself. When one looks at it, English is just the latest step in a huge process of linguistic evolution. One must start by examining the newest known form of English, which I would say is the contemporary vernacular form of it, which comes from Modern English, which comes from Middle English, which comes from Old English, which comes from West Germanic and Latin, which come from Italic and Germanic, which come from Proto-Indo-European, which comes from the rise of language itself. Knowing this we can proceed to start at the most primitive point, and go forwards. Starting at Primeval language we can evolve up to English, and find out where it comes from. After that we can find out perhaps where it is headed in the future.
