Back into the swing of writing my daily journal again, we’ll see how it goes. So, I woke up a little late today, as I had gotten to sleep relatively late last night. When I did wake up, I muddled around until I finally took a shower, in the relaxed atmosphere of being the only one home (my parents had gone camping yesterday). When I finished I got dressed and went downstairs to eat some bagel sandwiches. Upon the completion of those, I returned to my room to begin cleaning up, but kept getting distracted by my thoughts, one of which was the map desk, I intend to build in the near future. The other great thought I had was inspired from the first, and that was to build my eventual ‘state room’ which I think shall be a rather grand office, draped with flags of all of the countries I had been, reference books, globes, pillars, busts, and of course my awesome new map-desk. Of course, I did get a bit of cleaning done too, but not as much as I had hoped to do. I suppose the biggest thing about all of yesterday, at least into the late afternoon, was that I was so very glad to be free of work again at least temporarily. I also took to downloading the Da Vinci Code soundtrack from my MP3 website, which is astoundingly good, probably one of the best I’ve ever heard. I also downloaded a lot of other famous film themes and such, some of which are rather enjoyable. Eventually my parents got home from the land in South Park, and shortly thereafter Kevin came over. We went on a walk and when we returned ate hamburgers with my folks.
During supper, Nikki called Kevin, and came over shortly after. We sat and talked in my room for a while, about her breakup with Matt, and how poorly that was going, and following this, we went to Taco Bell to get Nikki some food. After eating we went back to my place where Nikki took off in her car to pick up her friends, and I changed clothing. We then went to Kevin’s house where he proceeded to do likewise, then we went to the Grizzly Rose, a most loathed place in my thoughts and feelings. When we arrived there, it being Sunday night, and therefore any age night, in addition to being Memorial day weekend, it was bloody packed to say the least. After having found a parking spot, Kevin and I walked up to the door, where, the bouncer said we couldn’t have knives, which Kevin had, and wallet-chains and the like. We returned to Kevin’s car to drop off the knife and retuned to the entrance of the place, when the guard asked to see our hemlines and when he saw the pocket-watch hanging from my belt loop, he said I couldn’t have that. A little disgruntled by this, I protested that it was only a pocket watch chain, and in a nice manner he sympathized but mentioned that it was his neck if I was caught with it inside. I then said to Kevin let’s go as I was not particularly interested in sitting in this den of lust and loud music anyway. We left to go on a drive and went West. Kevin was visibly upset, about not showing up (as he had promised Nikki he would do) and after a bit of thinking about it, I realized that the best course to help him would be to return, which we did. After finding a parking spot (slightly closer this time) we went and payed the ridiculous fee to get in.
Once in we looked for Nikki without result for nearly an hour, during which time Kevin had a beer. As we were about to leave, Nikki’s friend showed up and asked us if we were friends of hers, to which we naturally replied we were, she went to the bathroom and on the way out showed us where Nikki was. When we got there, she was getting a back rub from a short bloke I later found out was called Tony. Kevin was naturally very jealous of Tony for unmentionable but easy to deduce reasons. So, seeing her was good, but we were also very near the speaker and could not understand much of what anyone said. Nikki and this guy went to dance many times, and they were both very good at it. She had given him her phone number by the end of the night which upset Kevin all the more, and put him into a particularly violent temperament. Nikki had promised Kevin the next slow dance, but after nearly an hour of waiting, no slow dance music came on, so after Nikki’s friend wanted to leave (she was dependent on Nikki for a ride and went to ask her to go). At this time, having never wanted to enter these premises in the first place, I thought it would also be appropriate to go, and asked Kevin if we may to do so, in spite of his not having had the privilege of dancing with Nikki. We did go and went for a nightly drive, during which time I fell asleep around Keensberg (we were heading East this time). I woke up again sometime after turning around, and for obvious reasons Kevin was very upset now, and in much grief. After some discussion of it, and little result, Kevin dropped me off at my house, relatively late, and I went to sleep.
