I woke up fairly early today, as well as refreshed, but did not get going as early as I had hoped to do. When I did wake up, the house was still fairly full but nothing terrible. I left for Ladbroke Grove and got off at Great Portland Street, to go to the Kenyan embassy. When I got there, however, there was a notice on the board that mentioned the embassy was closed due to a Kenyan national holiday for two days, needless to say I was a bit irked by this. After that, I went to the STA office and got my Typhoid and Hepatitis A shot... as well as my pills for Malaria (yay), oh I do not look forward to that, I do not mind saying. Following this little excursion, I decided to take myself further in embassy land to the Tanzanian embassy, on the East side of Hyde Park. When I arrived there, there was certainly no embassy to speak of, although I was surrounded by other embassies, so that was quite frustrating. After this, in curiosity to see the American embassy and to maybe get some answers as to where this phantom embassy was. I decided to take myself over there, which was very nearby. When I got there, they were not too helpful, but I got to see the embassy so that was neat, but very heavy security.
I decided to go and find the Zambian embassy next, which was quite close in South Kensington, near Kensington park, but as I ambled my way along Hyde then Kensington Park, I came across the Israeli embassy with some armed guards outside of it too. Not being able to find my desired embassy, I asked the guards (a bit nervously) if they knew where the Embassy for Zambia was. He said he did not, but then I gave him the address and he told me where to go, since I had the wrong street. So, I made my way over to the correct one (South of Kensington park, not West of it like I thought it was) and when I arrived there, I discovered that it was closed to visa applications, so I resolved to come back the next day... after that I went home and the rest of the day was fairly uneventful.
