A great day, and a fun one... but I suppose that often goes together. To begin I woke up a bit late, and took a shower and came downstairs to find a full breakfast replete with nice bread the Potts provided (well they provided it all) and bacon. I gratefully ate my fill and we were soon off to explore Warrington and see all of the good stuff that was around there, also we looked for a good tweed hat I could wear to ward off the cold, but with little luck. After this little run, we came back home, where Roy and I departed Kate and met a very nice fellow named Dave (whom Roy knew well as they were neighbours and old teammates). We then went to a rugby game that was playing and it was quite the sport to see. I had never really watched a game of rugby being played before, but it was rather fun really. It was a brutal sport but one well worth watching, and I dare say far more masculine or hardcore than American football. The game itself was freezing and I felt like going inside more than once, and started to get to the point where my toes were freezing, or at least sufficiently uncomfortable. Fortunately it soon wrapped up, and we went into the club house there, it was apparently remodelled by fairly nice. After this we soon went to another clubhouse bar, that was more localised to Dave and Roy. We sat there for a while, and then Roy and I went back where we were treated to another lovely meal by Kate, I was always so pleased to eat there for that reason.
After waiting around a while, Dave and his wife came by and we played dominoes, all of us. It was funny though, because we gambled, a penny per dot left over to be paid to the player who went out first. I was actually very embarrassed by the end of the night, because I had won many games and had actually made a profit of about £3.00 or so, which if you consider that I only made a penny off of each dot, is quite substantial. Also that night, Dave brought over many cheeses, good English ones, which are far more potent in taste and texture than American cheeses. It actually reminded me of the cheese shop sketch by Monty Python. I really have to say I liked Dave, he was a very jolly English man, who would make jokes about us being in the colonies, and such like that, I think he was just a little upset that I was reaming him, unintentionally of course, in dominoes. I really liked meeting him and his wife Dorothy, and I was very happy again to be there this day. After this, and it lasted fairly late, I went to bed, well went back to my room and watched some Ali G and then went to bed I should say.
