Today, I woke up not as early as I would have liked, went downstairs and found another nice breakfast, with toast, bacon, cereal and so forth. Kate had to leave to work, so we said our good byes, and she was off. Roy showed me their back yard, and it was enormous, and just behind it, they actually had the canals for the transportation system of old. People still would rent the barges and turn them into holiday things travelling normally from Liverpool to Manchester or Manchester to London, and so forth, I think when I get rich enough it will definitely be something I would love to do. Anyway, After this, we came back to the house and he showed me a car he had in the garage. This was no ordinary car mind you, but an American one, and particularly one of the General Lee’s from the Dukes of Hazard, apparently a promotional one, seeing as it was not damaged by driving. It was, however sitting in human made wreckage in the garage, as some bloke was apparently using their garage to work on restoring it, with the stipulation by Roy that he was allowed to take a ride in it after the guy finished. After this, we sat about for a bit, and Roy took me to Warrington Bank Quay so I could catch my train, he waited with me there a bit, and gave me a key chain, of the Warrington golden gates (a present Victoria rejected for her jubilee, because there was a statue of Oliver Cromwell near it... old grudges go deep in some families I suppose).
Shortly after that Roy left, and I was left to wait for the train, and it was forty minutes late or so, due to some vandalism of the railroad. Someone had apparently left a bar or something on the tracks and this had caused a great stir and delay. I am not sure if that is precisely correct but that is what I did pick up. When the train finally did arrive, I was much relieved. I boarded onto the first class part, as that is what my ticket was for, and it was really a rather nice experience, bigger seats, and free food and drinks, I could not complain. I mostly read my book, but also gazed out at the gorgeous English countryside on the way back. It was interesting though, because we would go by some really sunny parts, and others with snow where it either was snowing, or had earlier and remained on the ground. We went through the town of Rugby, which is worth mentioning, because that is of course where rugby football came from. Eventually we finally did get back to London, and I basically tried to get a few things done, but was more a lazy bum and just puttered around on the internet more than I should care to admit.
Well, that is about it to say, I hope that you enjoyed the final trip of Jason in England, this time around, and I hope to catch up with the rest of the entries real quick. Ta da!
